Assistant professor

Dr. Nandika Tsendbazar, Assistant Professor at the Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing at Wageningen University, specializes in satellite-based land change monitoring.

Her research area spans land change monitoring and assessment, with a particular focus on monitoring land dynamics such as changes in vegetation, land cover, wetlands, and land degradation. She has extensive experience in quality and uncertainty assessments of satellite remote sensing based products focusing on statistical map validation, local map uncertainty, fitness for use, and map comparability. Dr Tsendbazar has developed an operational and multi-purpose validation framework for global land cover maps such as Copernicus Global Land Service Dynamic Land Cover (JRC) and ESA WorldCover, enabling quality assessments of land cover and change maps.
