Health and Society
The Health & Society group focuses on the sociological study of public health, health promotion and health protection, in resource poor and research rich contexts, with emphasis on (1) the social, natural and built environment, and (2) the role of actors and social institutions in advancing health and wellbeing.
Research
Our research group uses a holistic view to health, considering physical, social, mental and spiritual well-being. Health is created in everyday-life and arises from interaction between individual lifestyle, the social and physical environment.
The Health and Society group is part of Centre for Space, Place and Society
